LEGAL
Terms & Agreement
Using third-party automation can result in warnings, restrictions, suspension, banning, loss of an Evony account, or loss of game data and assets. You accept those risks when using Castellan.
CASTELLAN SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS Version 2026-10-10 PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY SELECTING “I HAVE READ AND AGREE” AND INSTALLING OR USING CASTELLAN, YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE. 1. Agreement and publisher These Software License Terms (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the developer or publisher identified in Castellan’s About page, subscription record, invoice, or official distribution page (“Developer”). “Castellan” or “Software” includes the desktop application, automation services, installers, updates, documentation, and related components supplied by Developer. You confirm that you have legal capacity to accept these Terms. If you use Castellan for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization. 2. License Subject to these Terms and any applicable subscription limits, Developer grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Castellan on supported computers for your own lawful purposes. The Software is licensed, not sold. Developer and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. You may make reasonable backup copies for recovery. You may not sell, sublicense, rent, distribute, defeat access controls, remove ownership notices, use the Software to provide an unauthorized competing service, or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits that activity despite this restriction. 3. Evony and other third-party services Castellan can interact with Evony and other third-party software, games, accounts, networks, websites, and services. Those services are controlled by their respective providers and governed by their own terms and rules. Castellan and Developer are not affiliated with or endorsed by Evony or its publisher unless expressly stated. Automation, bots, third-party software, or other Castellan features may be restricted or prohibited by Evony’s rules. By using Castellan with an Evony account, you knowingly accept the risk that Evony or its publisher may issue warnings; restrict features; reset progress; remove resources, troops, items, or other game assets; suspend or permanently ban the account; or otherwise limit or terminate access. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CASTELLAN AND DEVELOPER ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR AN EVONY WARNING, RESTRICTION, SUSPENSION, BAN, LOST ACCOUNT, LOST ACCESS, OR LOSS OF GAME DATA OR ASSETS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE USE OR DETECTION OF CASTELLAN, AUTOMATION, BOTS, OR OTHER THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE. You are responsible for determining whether your use of Castellan complies with applicable laws, game rules, account terms, alliance rules, and third-party agreements. Third parties may change or discontinue their software, protocols, accounts, or services or reject automated activity at any time. Developer does not control those decisions. 4. Automation and user control Automation can send actions using settings and credentials you provide. Results depend on network conditions, server state, game changes, available resources, configuration, timing, and conditions outside Developer’s control. No automation is guaranteed to run at a particular time, complete every activity, obtain a particular reward, protect an account, prevent an attack, or achieve any commercial or game result. You must review settings before enabling automation, monitor important accounts, maintain suitable safeguards, and stop automation when circumstances require manual control. You are responsible for actions initiated through your profiles and commands, including resource use, in-game currency, troop movements, messages, and account changes. 5. Administrative access and computer changes Installation, updates, repair, and removal may request Windows administrator access. When authorized, Castellan may create, replace, configure, or remove its application files, folders, registry entries, firewall rules, scheduled tasks, shortcuts, logs, encrypted credentials, backups, crash reports, and update files. Defects, interrupted updates, security software, insufficient storage, operating-system failures, hardware failures, or conflicting programs may cause installation failure, application crashes, degraded performance, corrupted configuration, loss of settings, or other computer problems. Castellan is designed to limit changes to its own components, but no software can guarantee that errors will never affect system files, Windows stability, other applications, or stored data. You authorize the changes described above and accept the operational risks inherent in installing and running software with administrative components. 6. Backups and data responsibility Before installation, update, repair, restoration, or removal, you should maintain current backups of important computer data and export any Castellan profiles or settings you need to preserve. You are responsible for retaining backup passwords. Encrypted backups cannot be restored without the correct password. Uninstallation may permanently remove local Castellan profiles, credentials, settings, logs, backups, and crash reports as described in the uninstall warning. 7. Updates If automatic updates are enabled, Castellan may check for, download, verify, and install signed updates. Updates may add, change, repair, or remove features and may replace application or service files. Castellan may use a smaller patch when the installed version matches the patch base and may use a full release when verification fails or versions were skipped. You may disable automatic updates in Settings, but outdated versions may become incompatible or unsupported. 8. Privacy and diagnostics Castellan may process account identifiers, profile configuration, device capability information, automation history, and technical diagnostics needed to provide the service. Optional crash reports may include computer specifications and application resource usage near a failure. Collection and use of personal information are governed by the privacy notice presented with the Software. Do not submit information you are not authorized to provide. 9. Security and prohibited use You must protect your Castellan account, computer access, backup passwords, and third-party credentials. Notify Developer promptly if you believe credentials or a backup have been compromised. You may not use Castellan to gain unauthorized access, disrupt systems, distribute malicious code, evade lawful restrictions, harass others, or violate another person’s rights. 10. Beta and pre-release features Features identified as beta, preview, private release candidate, experimental, or pre-release may be incomplete, may change without notice, and may fail more often than released features. They are provided for testing and evaluation and should not be relied on for critical or irreversible activity. 11. Disclaimer of warranties TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CASTELLAN IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS. DEVELOPER DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR PREVENT LOSS. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that applicable law does not allow the parties to exclude. 12. Limitation of liability TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVELOPER AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; LOSS OR CORRUPTION OF DATA; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, SUBSCRIPTIONS, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY; DAMAGE TO ACCOUNTS, GAME ASSETS, SYSTEM FILES, WINDOWS, HARDWARE, OR OTHER SOFTWARE; ACCOUNT SUSPENSION, BANNING, OR TERMINATION; OR COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO CASTELLAN, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGE WAS POSSIBLE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVELOPER’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO CASTELLAN WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DEVELOPER FOR CASTELLAN DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US $100. These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability. They do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, which may include liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury in some jurisdictions. If a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose, mandatory remedies provided by applicable law remain available. 13. Indemnity for misuse To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify Developer against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of Castellan, your violation of another person’s rights, or your material breach of Sections 2, 3, or 9. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Developer’s own unlawful conduct. 14. Suspension and termination Developer may suspend access for nonpayment, security threats, unlawful use, material breach, or conduct that risks harm to users or services. This license ends when your subscription or right to use the Software ends or when you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, stop using Castellan and uninstall it. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive. 15. Changes to these Terms Developer may update these Terms for future versions or services. A material update will be presented for acceptance before the affected version is installed or used. The installer identifies the version of the Terms you accepted and allows you to save a copy. 16. Governing law and disputes Except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction over Developer’s principal place of business will have exclusive jurisdiction unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Before filing a claim, each party will give the other reasonable written notice and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. 17. General terms If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without Developer’s consent; Developer may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the Software. These Terms, applicable subscription terms, and the privacy notice form the entire agreement concerning Castellan and supersede prior statements about the same subject. By selecting the agreement checkbox, you confirm that you can access, read, save, and reproduce these electronic Terms and that your selection is intended as your electronic acceptance.
