Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Castellan collects, how it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you. It applies to the Castellan website, Windows application, account portal, automation services, support services, and related administration systems.

Information we collect

• Account and contact information: name, email address, account status, subscription or trial, accepted terms version, support messages, and communication history.
• Evony profile information: server number, player or monarch identifiers, profile names, configured settings, game state needed for requested automation, activity progress, marches, rallies, protection state, inventory observations, and automation results.
• Device and session information: device identifier, device name, operating system and capability details, application version, login and logout times, active sessions, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and security events.
• Usage and diagnostic information: features used, commands, logs, errors, update results, performance information, crash reports you choose to submit, and technical details needed to diagnose reliability or compatibility problems.
• Billing information: plan, invoices, credits, refunds, payment status, renewal dates, and payment-method metadata. When payment processing is available, the payment processor handles full card or bank details; Castellan does not intend to store full payment-card numbers.
• Trial eligibility information: trial keys, redemption history, Evony account identifiers, devices, and IP history used to enforce one-time trial limits and investigate abuse.
• Website information: necessary cookies or local storage, browser details, pages requested, and security logs.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide subscribed features; operate profiles and automation requested by you; enforce plan, server, device, and trial limits; show account history; process billing; send service and security notices; deliver and verify updates; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; diagnose failures; improve reliability; and comply with legal obligations.

Automation and third-party services

Castellan uses the credentials, identifiers, and game state you provide to communicate with Evony and other services as directed by your settings. Those services receive the network requests and information needed to perform the requested actions. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies and terms.

When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We may share the minimum information needed with hosting, email, payment, security, diagnostics, and support providers that help operate Castellan; with authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, users, or services; or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the business. We may share information at your direction, such as when an automation posts to game chat.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security and audit history, meet billing and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by record type. Backups and security logs may remain for a limited period after active records are removed. Trial-abuse records may be retained to enforce one-time eligibility.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls, encrypted transport, protected credentials, signed updates, and logging. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account password, backup passwords, computer, and third-party credentials.

Your choices and rights

You may update available account details, review active sessions, sign out devices, change automation settings, and contact support to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information. Some records may be retained where needed for security, billing, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate dispute records. Rights vary by location, and we will handle verified requests as required by applicable law.

Cookies and local storage

Castellan uses necessary browser storage to keep you signed in, protect sessions, identify your browser as a device, remember your privacy choice, and operate account features. Optional browser diagnostics remain off unless you enable them. Castellan honors a browser Global Privacy Control signal by keeping optional diagnostics off.

Castellan does not sell personal information, use behavioral advertising, or load third-party advertising trackers. You can review or change the browser choice at any time through Privacy choices.

Children

Castellan is not directed to children under 13 or any higher minimum age required by local law. Do not create an account or provide personal information unless you are legally permitted to use the service and accept its terms.

International processing

Information may be processed in locations where Castellan or its service providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. We use appropriate safeguards where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Castellan changes. Material changes will be presented through the website, application, account notice, or another reasonable method. The effective date above identifies the current version.
